The first wide-body aircraft (an aircraft with two aisles) was the Boeing 747. But in 1972, when all other wide-bodies were sporting either 3 or 4 engines, Airbus launched their debut bird:
The A300, the first wide-body aircraft with just two engines.
Several generations of aircraft later, the A300 is still in use. This beauty from Iran Air is almost 20 years old and still going strong.
I always wanted to visit Iran and let my eyes feast on the historic beauty of Isfahan, Shiraz and Yazd while stuffing myself silly with persian food.
Perhaps I could hitch a ride on an A300.
