The Airbus A318 is not a big aircraft, the Air France configuration seating just 118 pax. In comparison they have room for 516 lucky bastards on their A380. So it’s a tiny one – kinda short and fat, and with a really big tail for its size. I love it.
There aren’t many A318’s in service, and most of them are flown by Air France. British Airways have two, they use them on their London-New York routes with a stop for refuelling in Shannon. I have seriously considered buying a ticket. In a few weeks I will be crossing the Atlantic on the biggest Airbus, I want to try the smallest one as well.
Air France is flying an A318 on some of their flights between Paris and Copenhagen. It may or may not have played a part in my decision to book a december trip to Paris.
Hopefully there will be room enough for my christmas shopping.
