One can never be in a bad mood, when in the presence of such a pointy nose.
Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Denmark, we had warm weather and the sun did not set until 9.30 pm.
While airlines are busy retiring their 747 Jumbojets, Lufthansa is doing the right thing and buying new ones. This lovely lady is just two years old. Plenty of years in service left for her.
If you want to watch plenty of A340’s in action, Zürich is the place to be.
20 years old and still going strong, HB-JMM is a true workhorse. And very nice looking.
I love the SAS version of the Star Alliance livery. The red engines, the black tail – it’s all very dramatic and bold.
Meanwhile, the Lufthansa version could use a bit more colour. How about some nice, yellow engines?

Before I started taking photos of planes, learning about the different types, following them on Flightradar24 and all that planespottingjazz, the main allure of airports was the sense of adventure. Staring at the departure screens while waiting for my flight to board, wondering about the many places I had never seen. I would dream of being able to afford just waking up one random morning, buying a same-day ticket to somewhere exotic. I still do, although the list of places I consider exotic have shrunk quite a bit.
But Yekaterinburg would fit the bill. Last year’s (seasonal) weekly arrival of Ural Airlines certainly sparked my curiosity.
